Cambridge Society of Recorder Players

Welcome to the Cambridge Society of Recorder Players Website.
This Branch of the SRP provides information about many activities for recorder players.
Beginners, intermediate and advanced standard players welcome.

Founded in 1937, next year will be the SRP's 80th birthday year.
To mark the occasion, Cambridge, Peterborough and Beds and North Herts branches will host a celebratory festival in Cambridge from April 7 to 9. The festival will open with an "All Star" Gala concert on Friday evening featuring Michala Petri, Piers Adams, Tom Beets, Evelyn Nallen, Charlotte Barbour-Condini and Sophie Westbrooke. The weekend will include playing sessions, workshops, shops, and of course a festive party on Saturday evening with entertainment by the Chuckerbutty Ocarina Quartet and K'Antu.

We are keen to welcome new members and conductors. Visitors are always welcome too, whether members of the SRP or not.

From the menu above, please select Meetings for details of our weekly meetings and conductors.

The Cambridge Branch has recently been awarded a grant from the National Lottery Fund "Awards For All" scheme and we have purchased two great basses and a contra bass. These instruments are available for use by members and the local youth recorder groups with whom we have contact.

If you want to know more about the Branch and our activities, please contact one of the committee or else come along on a Wednesday evening.

The website is regularly updated.
