"THE ELY PYPERS NOYSE"

Greetings!
I am sending this to you, all my musical/good networking contacts!!

Since last June, I have been operating as "The Pied Piper Of Ely". Although this is very 'hassle-free', from an organisational point of view, it is very lonely and I also miss the social aspect of playing in bands, which I have done for most of my adult life. (See my website: http://www.tonypearson.co.uk for more information on the Piper's activities.
I have decided to expand the range of my activities, to 'morph' the Pied Piper into more of a Costumed Renaissance Street Band. To that end, I have taken up the Shawm again and I am at present working to get my 'lip' back.
I have already found someone who plays the Sackbut, who would like to join in. Who knows, in the fullness of time, I might even find other players of 'loud wind' who would like to be part of it.
What I need to get the thing started, is a dedicated percussionist; somebody who likes banging things and would be pleased to do it. I know from experience that many people find this boring, but there are plenty of percussionists out there and I suspect that somewhere, there is one who would like to be part of a costumed Early Music Group.
Ideally, this person should be
• 'Musical',
• Enthusiastic about early Music
• Not be heavily committed elsewhere
• Preferably be 'active retired', or otherwise unencumbered by having to 'earn the weekly envelope', so that rehearsals can be held during the day
• Not living a million miles away from Ely, would also be an advantage!

A working name for this new group is "THE ELY PYPER'S NOYSE"
I know that in most cases, you who are receiving this, will not be interested but I would ask you to forward it to all your musical friends, because even if they are not, somewhere out there, is someone who will!
Thanks for humouring me!
Tony
